researchers and artist-in-residence working together in the ARTlab.

The ARTlab space is a new initiative dedicated to ArtScience co-creation and learning for UoN’s research community. It aspires to become UoN’s pilot incubation lab that hosts artists-in-residency, creative network events, and knowledge exchange programmes. The ARTlab is a dedicated facility within the Physics & Astronomy Building.

It is designed to significantly expand the scope of current activity by identifying spaces (physical and virtual) in the institution to enable a much wider programme of activity between STEM subjects, art production and arts scholarship, and contribute to a positive research culture.

The ARTlab gives room for prototyping, exploration, creation, testing, discussion, learning, education, engagement, experimentation, failing, reflection, empathising, inquiry, ideas, and questions.
